Tamora Pierce was a finalist for the 2012 Mythopoeic Society Fantasy Award for Children's Literature for the Beka Cooper series. The award went to Delia Sherman's THE FREEDOM MAZE, a book Tammy highly recommends to all her fans. Congratulations, Delia!
NPR's List of The 100 Best Ever Teen Novels is out, and Tamora Pierce made the list with four of her six nominated series: The Song of the Lioness (#50), "Daughter of the Lioness"/TRICKSTER Series (#81), The Immortals (#83) and The Circle of Magic (#86).
MASTIFF has been selected by the 2012 Amelia Bloomer Project's Recommended Books With Significant Feminist Content in Young Adult Fiction. The Amelia Bloomer Project is part of the American Library Association's Social Responsibilities Roundtable Feminist Task Force, and annually selects the best feminist books for children and teens published within the last 18 months.

American Civil Liberties Union: you may not agree with everyone they defend, in the courts and in the media, but these are the people who are trying to make sure that no one cuts up the American Bill of Rights and turns it into paper dolls. They defend anyone's right to free speech. In a time when our government seems determined to forget that particular amendment to the Bill of Rights was ever written, we need to support these people and to speak out ourselves.
