Recording of CIRCLE OF MAGIC: DAJA'S BOOK
 The
rehearsals took place in the offices of Full Cast Audio, while the recordings
themselves were done at Todd Hobin Studios in Baldwinsville, a small town right
outside Syracuse. Todd's studio is a two-storey barnlike structure (see picture
to the left) right on the edge of a river, with the studio and "green room"
(where actors hang out when they're not acting) downstairs, and the control room
upstairs. Full Cast Audio's co-founder Dan Bostick (who played Dedicate Skyfire
in TRIS'S BOOK) spent much of his time upstairs in the control room serving as a
second set of ears for Bruce, who not only directed all the Circle...
audiobooks but played Niko as well.
If you're wondering why the first 10 pictures on this page (taken
during rehearsals for DAJA'S BOOK) look a bit drab, it's because I used my
camera's Slow Shutter mode to take pictures without using the flash and
disturbing everyone. While a slow shutter speed is capable of collecting enough
light to take a picture even in a dimly-lit room (or outdoors at night, which is
how I took that picture of Todd's studio), it does so by leaving the shutter
open for a few seconds, so any movement reads as a blur. You can see some of
that in the pictures below - and especially in a few pictures on the last page!
The pictures of me were taken by Tammy, Spencer Murphy (who
played Briar) and Maureen "Mo" Harrington (who played Rosethorn) using my
camera.
They're Done! They're Finally Done!
After two weeks of rehearsals and recordings, everyone cut loose a little
when the recording for DAJA'S BOOK was finally finished....
